The gifted Wanda Sykes's performance at the White House Correspondence Dinner Saturday 9 May delivered a knock-out to the badly out of time and ideas GOP. Like Luke Skywalker in the original Star Wars, she delivered her bunker buster remarks at exactly the right spot on the GOP Battle Star. Dick "Darth Vader" Cheney leads the bitter-enders, though he receives agitprop support from a variety of shows and publications associated with the Republican right-wing, all of which can be short-handed into the concept of "Limbaugh."  Dick Cheney will sell a lot of books; and his speaking fee keeps climbing.  I have not listened or read R. Limbaugh for some considerable time; what I know of the old Limbaugh is that he can handle anything but a lack of attention. Robert Gibbs at the White House handled deftly the question about Sykes from the skillful media gang.  Wanda Sykes is now a superstar and may have defined the argument for the next months.
