"...enemy and he is us."
Peculiar attack ad by the NRCC against Alabama's Parker Griffith just last year in 2008. Attack ads work so well they are laughable when you look at them again. What exactly was the point of hearing a fellow remark that the single most destructive attack on America int he last decade was the collective bank run of September and October 2008? Trillions and trillions of assets destroyed by the tomfoolery of Congress, regulators, bankers and the willful suspension of moral hazard implicit in Fannie and Freddie and then the Bear Sterns bailout. Pogo: "Yep, son, we have met the enemy and he is us." You hear different?

I see nothing untoward, funny or cynical in NRCC ad above. If that's what Griffith said and it reflects his belief, it should be made available to the voters and play into their consideration of the candidates that are available to them. If he, Griffith, can defend his statement, let him do so. If he weasels, let him display his flawed character.
In an earlier thread Mike referred to the Dems as "THE SOUND OF ONE PARTY (hand) CLAPPING". The reason there's any semblance of clapping at all these days is because there is still one hand. The fight has temporarily shifted away from Democrat vs. Republican. The current fight is between the 'one-handers' and the 'no-handers'. It should be of interest to the patient if Griffith can be shown to favor amputation.

POLITICIANS ONLY BELIEVE IN ONE THING: GETTING RE-ELECTED
Pundits talk about how the stimulus bill put very little money to work (and, even, fewer people) in 2009. They give no explanation other than bad planning. Well, yes, it is bad planning: The White House had no idea that jobs were important. But it's also cynical planning. The stimulus money will be spent in 2010, because there's an election in 2010. It's that simple. Make the economy look good in 2010, so people will vote Dem. Of course, it back fired. It's still 2009 and people want jobs, not BS. A year ago Dems had no idea how bad the economy really was. Today, they have no idea how to fix it. Spending money isn't a solution. It's a strategy for getting re-elected.
Parker Griffith, no doubt, will say anything or do most anything, such as switching parties, to get re-elected. Does that make him a bad person? It certainly makes him a politician.
Who will be the first Republican to say The President is not doing his job? The next few days will be interesting. Recall St. Hillaire of Chappaqua held up a NY Post headline and Claimed "Bush Knew" about 9/11. Lapdog media worked with the liberals to continually ridicule every decision of Bush 43.
Why does the President stay in Hawaii?
