KSM Under The Bus

The Obama Administration Cannot Solve KSM.

News arrives that the 9-11 conspiracy clown act at Guantanomo, Khalid Sheik Mohammed and his kindred of Cain, have published another incoherent, taunting, brutish and, fact be known, stupid letter to the usual bored, humorless and copy-and-paste media platforms.

...Many thanks to God, for his kind gesture, and choosing us to perform the act of Jihad for his cause and to defend Islam and Muslims. Therefore, killing you and fighting you, destroying you and terrorizing you, responding back to your attacks, are all considered to be great legitimate duty in our religion. These actions are our offerings to

God...

The Europeans once seemed the most concerned with the fate of a ragged gang of enthusiastic suicides, but a quick look today over the London headlines shows the KSM flap well down in the page.  The French are equally puzzled.  Since the Obama Administration ordered GITMO closed (eventually) and ordered all the prisoner cases reviewed for possible release or transfer to the US justice system, the Euros have lost focus and the Arab media has moved on to preaching about the evils of Israel.  Contrarily this makes KSM an Obama team problem only.  What to do with a fellow who is clearly sane, clearly ambitious, clearly a self-confessed mass-murderer?

...We ask to be near to God, we fight you and destroy you and terrorize you. The Jihad in god's cause is a

great duty in our religion. We have news for you, the news is: You will be greatly defeated in

Afghanistan and Iraq and that America will fall, politically, militarily, and economically. Your end is very

near and your fall will be just as the fall of the towers on the blessed 9/11 day...

To transfer KSM to the US courts is not the quick answer.  Attorney General Eric Holder stated in his confirmation hearing that water-boarding is torture.  KSM was water-boarded.  Therefore in a US Court all charges developed from the information gained during the water-boarding are futile.  This suggests that KSM walks out of a US. court.  But what about a military tribunal?  The President's executive orders suspended the KSM tribunal underway as recently as December 2008.  We wait now for a finding after six months by the Attorney General and Defense Secretary Robert Gates as to how to treat KSM and his gang.  Again, the answers are not obvious.  Pakistan does not want KSM returned.  GITMO is closing (eventually).  The choice of SuperMax in Florence, Colorado is a good one, where KSM can idle the next forty years in 23 of 24 hour solitary and wither with cancer of the soul, but how to try KSM in a federal court without solving the torture story and the fact that he was never given his Miranada warning?

The Bus.

I am watching for a legal solution.  For now, the political solution, before KSM websites start again, before KSM signs a $10 million book and movie deal, is for the Obama team to use the ploy that worked during the campaign.  Throw KSM under the bus.  Never talk about him again.  And don't forget to edit the Wiki entry accordingly and lock it up.  The signature part of the recent rant especially can never get into Wiki: this never happened: repeat: this NEVER happened: these people do no exist.  Who?  Who?

Absolutely make all these people disappear!!

"Opposite Day" returns. For those of you, who may not remember as far back as grade school, let me refresh your memory. "Opposite day" was a day we designated on which we could say the exact opposite of what we actually meant. It was on this day when little Jennie Pruitt would suddenly stand up three tables away during lunch break in the school cafeteria and shout in her best diction across the room, "You're an ugly cuss, James Ryder!" and all of us would laugh, knowing exactly what she meant. Nobody got mad, especially James who just turned beet read. And that was okay too. After all, it was “Opposite Day”.

From the beginning, Barack Obama and his gang of thugs have been celebrating "Opposite Day". When he said that his administration would be fiscally responsible; when he said that his team would be scrupulously ethical; when he spoke out against earmarks/pork; when he said bills would be posted on the internet 48 hours before he would sign them; (the list is endless), it’s turned out exactly the opposite of what he said would happen. We’ve all seen the results.

Now, let’s fast forward and peek into the future for a moment. When he says he will work to fix the economy; when he says he will stand by Israel; when he says he will close Gitmo and not raise our taxes, what would you think he means? In Islam, a lie is not a lie. Look it up; google it. The revolution began innocently in our schools. (By the way, there is an excellent op-ed by Caroline Glick in today’s ‘Jerusalem Post’.) You can’t know what’s going on without knowing about “Opposite Day”. Our chattering class is still spinning its wheels. Though, some are beginning to get it. Check out recent comments by Cramer, Buffett and Briggs.

in a world where consequences to actions actually are required... these men would vanish into the ether.

but i can see it now... at the end of the Man-Child's Presidency a certain attorney general will sheepishly march in a request a few signatures on some un important papers- and away will go the Shura council free despite all.

The Cynical American

WHAT TO DO ABOUT KSM

AG Holder should organize a pre-dawn raid on Gitmo, read KSM his Miranda rights and then return him to his father in Egypt.

What most bothers me about the adolescents occupying the Dean's office for the next four years is there inability to think through the consequences of their actions. We know that the recidivism rate of released Gitmo prisoners is high - they are more likely to go on to kill either American servicemen or innocent foreign civilians. That should be enough to hold them. There is precedent for doing so with enemy combatants. We were informed recently that they are even being treated in accord with the Geneva convention, even though they do not deserve its protections. But the true madness of it all is what it could do to American soldiers and operatives in the field. What is a rational agent to do in the field when confronted with an enemy combatant? If you take him prisoner, you become entangled in a law enforcement process for which you have not (likely) been trained - chain of custody, evidence, Miranda rights, report writing, potential court testimony. There is an easier solution, allowable in war even if the specific rules of engagement don't say so explicitly - get information from the enemy in the field and execute him. The occupants of the Dean's office and their minions will shout "war crime", but if the enemy is not in uniform and is engaged in hostilities and mingling among the local civilian crowd, are they not guilt of prior war crimes and outside the purview of the Geneva conventions? The result of these soft policies could well result in two things we do not wish for - less intelligence information being gathered and more war time executions and much international gnashing of teeth about war crimes. Just as with the economy and the banks, these guys are just not "deep thinkers" - they don't look at the second and third order effects of what they do to see the consequences. That is the debate I have with my liberal friends (I live in a Blue State ) - you need to see how your actions will cause responses in the various stakeholders before choosing them.

novanglus - Call me crazy, but I think they know exactly what they're doing. They've thought it out to the nth degree. Don't underestimate them. You do so at your own peril. We've underestimated them before, most notably when the schools stopped teaching; and then again, when the economy imploded. None of these things just happened out of thin air. Every last detail of it was carefully planned. We're still in the initial phase. Healthcare and immigration reform are still in the pipeline. We cannot underestimate these people. We must identify them; and fight them as if we know what they're up to. We know their goal: the utter and complete take-over of the private sector. You, of all people, must know what that means. We must not dismiss their actions as incompetence. It's not the beating wings of the black swan you hear; it's the rattle of the snake in the grass.

Peter - I have known too many of these domesttic enemies. Truth be told, I was among them until my early twenties, when the engineering education and the Reagan years wiped away the fog and showed me some clarity. They may well be devious, but they are not so competent. They seem incapable of holding power, before descending into conflict - like the Judean Peoples Front and the Peoples' Front of Judea in "Life of Brian". They have access to all of the rope now, with no checks and balances. I feel that we will soon watch them hang themselves. I only hope that they do so in the next 18 months, so we can wash them out of the Dean's office in the 2010 elections.

I have justed picked up a couple of books by Robert Conquest ("Harvest of Sorrow", "The Great Terror", and "The Dragons of Expectation") to read while traveling overseas the rest of the month. I have some very close friends who fled the Soviet regime. They cite the similarities of today's America to the land they thought they had left behind. They assure me that a smart person can navigate these currents successfully. The question is how to use their actions (spending, censorship, bureacracy) in a form of jujitsu against them and bring America's rebirth about sooner, rather than later.

my dear friends, i thank you all for being here and i thank our host continues to report the obtuse details of the world at large...

i can suspect that Peter And Novanglus are quiet onto the right track... while appearing to be at odds
(Opposite's Day -gave me a giggle Peter i don't Recall My Queens NY upbringing having such a day but My 5 yr old has, out in the blessed union free school districts of Nassau County) You and I concur that the overall agendas have long been drawn and plans that where years in the making and instituting are finally coming to fruition ... to believe other wise would be naive... The empirical proof lies in the study of the community reinvestment programs... they simply went against every tenet of financial solvency ... it was a planned demolition. The grim science of economics foretold of such folly and yet by abducting the educational reigns of power, they managed to transform 1+1 from equaling 2 to equaling less if the numerals should reside in an urban center.
Novanglus - Were I believe you have it nailed down is that invariably(God Willing) these Dean's list attendees will reach too far. as is the case more often than not... Power tend rise to arrogance which in turn births corruption Corruption begets malicious criminal intent and to inevitable cover-up Which is where i will give our fine host his credit... Mr. Batchelor taught me years ago, it's the cover up that brings the card house down around it's makers.
Let us all pray that it is of rapid succession because it is going to one hell of a mess to turn around if it should go on longer than a term.
