MI5 Moves in Stupid Terror Ways.
Fans of Phillip K. Dick's "Minority Report," will celebrate a reality show tribute to a master of modernist alienation with the latest news from Scotland Yard of multiple terror arrests. At the same time, the explanation why the Scotland Yard's boss of counter-terror, the Clousseau of Old Blighty, the chubby, clumsy Cantabridgian Robert Quick, accidentally held top secret documents of an imminent dragnet on local jihadists in a manner in which anyone could see, using modern digital analysis, that the whole game was written out in English, is that 1. the man is bottomlessly mindless and a binge eater who was trying to cover up his box of donuts with loose papers, and 2. Scotland Yard is so over-run with much worse talent that Quick gets to carry the donuts and the documents wherever he goes, and 3. We did it on purpose, sort of, to force the shilly-shallying Gordon Brown government to move against these Pakistani-linked nightmares and scare the bejeeses out of the cells so that they will all run at once. Other explanations are possible and equally facile.
On Wednesday afternoon, armed counter-terrorism officers raided addresses in the Cheetham Hill area of Manchester, including an internet cafe, while others targeted a building at Liverpool John Moores University and a guest house in Clitheroe, Lancashire.
The Counter-Terrorism Unit, which is based in Manchester, said: "The arrests started about 5.30pm and homes are being searched in three force areas."

"Move and I will have to use this fracking thing somehow, and maybe I will just use it by fracking accident anyway and shoot you in the fracking buttocks!"
Witnesses at Liverpool John Moores University said two Asian men in their mid to late 20s were held by armed police outside the main library.
Craig Ahmed, 24, a business student from Maghull, Merseyside, said: "Suddenly there was all shouting and commotion outside so I went to the window and saw about eight police officers.
"One of them was armed and was pointing his gun at two men who were ordered to lie face down on the ground.
"For about half an hour they held the men on the floor. The police were shouting things at them but I couldn't hear what was being said.
"They looked like students, one was wearing tracksuit bottoms and a hooded top and the other had a Puffa-style jacket on.
"After some time the police then searched a satchel belonging to one of the men and a carrier bag belonging the other one.
"The two men were then searched as they were on the ground and cuffed and taken away."

The short version of the problem in Britain is that the terror threat is almost entirely from Pakistan, everyone in authority knows it, the country is in denial that you can welcome and abuse and ignore immigrants from a failed state for sixty years and not create a problem of alienation and violence (right, July 2005), and Pakistani- origin families with young men at risk are as feeble, deceitful, aimless and helpless as the government spies looking in. One hundred suicidal gangsters can wreck a country if the authority figures in London decide that it is not to the government's advantage to attack and exit the gangsters. Right now, and for the next years, the British economy is on its face, the London upper class is frightened of old age, cancer, and a world without the Royals, in that order, and the goons who profit form preaching hatred are going to have a good run. The 11 men arrested so far in this Keystone Cop raid are not the story. The story is a European nation that has lost its will to prosper. Mother Britain is a caretaker state. The Gordon Brown government is so feckless that it aspires to dhimmitude. It will shrink and cower and hide until the jihadists attack again, and then it will whine and pontificate and ask for forgiveness. One officer said: "These are the most significant terrorism arrests for some time. There was information which led us to believe that these men were planning something major. It was not clear when or where they would strike but they were collecting material for a large explosion. We are talking about something big."

If terrorism against innocents is the method of war that they choose for themselves or is the way grievances are expressed, then terrorism against the suspicious, innocent or not, will be what is used to fight them. And it will be random and based on appearance and nothing else. Call it profiling, if you will.
Euro blood runs hot, but, when confronted with fight or fall, Euro blood turns cold... colder than any other on the planet. And it doesn't necessarily require a representative governments call to arms.

Reading John’s commentary above brought me to the same worrisome conclusion. But then I realized that this stems from a pre-election mentality. The American electorate in its infinite wisdom elected Barack Obama, after all. I see the jihadis somewhat bemused by all this. “Have we actually achieved all that we set out to do?” they ask themselves. “America has installed a precocious three-year old at the wheel of the most powerful economy in the world; he can not help but wreck it. But where does that leave us?” they lament. “All those brilliant plans we have; all those bombs, those suicide vests. What happens to us now that the Great Satan has decided, quite on its own, to blow himself up?”
I can already see the gnawing uncertainty creeping in. Both the Russians and the Islamists are now faced with the task of changing their tactics as pertains to America. Don't be sorry. Nice post! I feel sorry for your fingernails. I used to bite mine and then I got tooth implants (it's actually quite affordable here in Chennai) and now I don't bite anymore. Spence, you're at your best when you're passionate and direct. Nothing compares to passion - not cleverness nor power nor reason. That's why I fear for our nation. We've had it drained out from us by years of PC persecution. Jihadis have all the passion in the world. We're no match for that. If it came right down to it, people like you (and dare I say it, Sam) are the only ones left would actually put up a credible fight. The point is, he's fighting. It doesn't matter which side. Those who fight win. Our side doesn't fight anymore. That's how we came to run a "reach-across-the-aisle" candidate and lost. Obama has been fighting white people and capitalism in the trenches all his life. He organized and fought again for the presidency - and won. The rest of us have to accept his leadership on his terms - because we refused to fight.
Thank God for our good Warriors!! Oh yes it does matter what position one takes. I wouldn't even try to pretend that I deserve a place at table with these few who give so much and receive so little in return.

It shows once again the UK/US/Canadian government will do their best to upset the masses into a mob rule frenzy thus enabling them to take away more of your rights. For example, in the last G20 in Quebec, RCMP police had inflitrated the peace group and tried to throw rocks at the police barricade. This video is on Youtube.

2. The US Gulliver's impotent struggle with a handful of motley pirates?
3. The KGB finally having its way with Georgia?
4. Obama's weak assurances that the missile defense "isn't dead?"
5. Gates attacking the "defense procurement culture," sending signals about DoD expenditures?
6. The Chinese getting caught hacking the US energy grid?
7. Chavez visiting China, no doubt trading basing rights for "investment?"
8. Larry Summers' and Tim Geithner's assurances about the economy?
I think about the brave Captain Phillips bobbing up and down in a dark, dank lifeboat, with no fresh air, and surrounded by a bunch of cut-throat Somalian pirates who are probably drawing straws to see who gets to kill him, victim of four decades of American cowardice, (not on the part of our armed forces, mind you, but on the part of our spineless, uneducated, decadent liberal populace and news media) and I say that makes all the other stories OK to put on hold for just a day or two.
