Speaking with professional campaigner in re the POTUS Obama re-elect map, and it emerges that the Electoral College map is small and perilous for POTUS. Washington's received wisdom is that Obama must win one of four states: FL, NC, VA, OH. In addition, Obama must hold on to NM, NV, CO and IA. It is a daring balancing act. My informant observes that FL and NC are a bridge too far for the president. That POTUS is too unpopular to find the ground game; and the likely outcome is that the GOP House will pick up seats in NC and VA. When POTUS is matched up against Mitt Romney, the map looks worse for re-elect. Romney denies Obama NV and threatens MN and MI. Also, Romney puts NH back into play. In sum, the Obama re-elect is not being cunning when it frets about the challenge of Mitt Romney: they have cause to fear him.  Romney's weakness with the GOP is that he is a Nelson Rockefeller Republican left over from the 1960s, a liberal, moderate, counter-ideological, managerial office-holder.  Rocky Redux.   No big concepts; no principles before success.  This is objectionable to about half the GOP.   There are only a handful of GOP House seats left from New Jersey to Maine, and the two senators in Maine are fair-weather Conservatives. The GOP base, demonstrably loyal to Ronald Reagan, is now faced with campaigning for and electing another George H. W. Bush over a POTUS who makes Michael Dukakis appear grounded.

Why did Obama ban Fracking for Oil in Ohio? They make Tires in Ohio! They are directly tied to the oil industry. STUPID STUPID STUPID!!!!!!

You mentioned this last night on JBS, BHO must be afraid of losing his environmental base.

Obama cannot win without Ohio and Michigan.

A lot of people vote for someone who looks good on TV and debates well. All the other candidates are tainted.

I'm tempted to wish for winning the Senate and let Obama get the blame for the lackluster economy for another 4 years. It might be work the 4 years of suffering to put finally put socialism out to pasture.

"BHO must be afraid of losing his environmental base."

I asked earlier how many boots on the ground do the envirothugs command? It can't possibly be as many as the unions. They both are not going to withhold their money no matter what. Look at the brainless Sillycon Valley billionaires: they can't shovel out to Obama fast enough. The only thing that will help Obama is boots on the ground to fake the registrations and pump up fake vote totals. I don't understand whatever passes for his/Axelrod/Plouffe thought process.

FROM THE TINY ACORN, as well as "fak[ing] the registrations and pump[ing] up fake vote total',
THE GIANT OAF DOES GROW.

BARRY THE GIANT JOBS KILLER, pt 4

Yes. We need all the fracking we can get.

And don't forget about the Keystone XL pipeline. Thousands upon thousands of jobs lost there, as well as in Louisiana which refines this kind of heavy oil. Also if Canada decides to build an oil pipeline to Vancouver -- to be able to ship to China -- we've lost a dependable, relatively cheap source of oil that could help makes us energy independent.

"I don't understand whatever passes for his/Axelrod/Plouffe thought process."

Aaron Klein did a segment or two on how the Dems were fighting for state Secretary of State elected officials, so that when the election process breaks down, they can fix them.

A la Florida 2000.

WHY ARE PODCASTS IMPOSSIBLE TO DOWNLOAD?

It used to be easy, now it's not. Is there a reasonable explanation for this?

"Dems were fighting for state Secretary of State elected officials, so that when the election process breaks down, they can fix them."

I understand that's an important point behind having the governorships since the Governor appoints most State Secs. It's also the reason that the Dems fight pitched battles against computer voting - they can't queer the results as easily, if at all, with computer voting like they can with paper ballots. I just don't get it in realtion to Obama's behavior on the pipeline. Sometimes I wonder if Obama isn't the PLA choice for president. Remember all those curiously small and unrounded donations that amounted to hundreds of thousands if not millions? I know Obama's was the Al Qaeda choice.

"Thousands upon thousands of jobs lost there, as well as in Louisiana which refines this kind of heavy oil."

Well, let's face it. The Obama administration has been a disaster for states and peoples who didn't vote for him and wouldn't vote for him in million years. He's impoverished thousands who he probably thinks shouldn't be allowed to vote anyway. What's he lost? He can blame their plight on the overall economy and get away with it.

"we've lost a dependable, relatively cheap source of oil that could help makes us energy independent."

That's small beer compared to what he and the thugs are doing to coal, oil, and nat gas production in this country. The thugs have predicted for 40 years that "peak oil is at hand." If Mother Nature keeps turning their predictions into laughing stocks, they'll make it happen by policy directives, legislation, and executive orders. Remember the environmentalists' enemy is prosperity, wherever it rears its ugly head to demonstrate that we can have large populations that enjoy a rising level of well-being. Remember too that their ideal pop limit for the planet is 2 billion. As Chris Horner puts it, "look at the person on your left, and then the person on your right; they both have to go."

"Sometimes I wonder if Obama isn't the PLA choice for president."

When I hear the above or write what's below, I have to think of Peter K -- who at first seemed a little radical and now seems almost prescient.

"That's small beer compared to what he and the thugs are doing to coal, oil, and nat gas production in this country"

Ironically, Barry & Co are more supportive of coal than nat gas. Cramer said the other day that nat gas is so plentiful that airlines are thinking using it and it's driving down the price of coal.

I can't say this enough:

Maybe Obama isn't a Muslim, but he's certainly acting like one.
Maybe Obama isn't a Marxist, but he's certainly acting like one.
Maybe Obama is an American, but he's certainly not acting like one.

3) Not supporting the protestors in Tehran
4) Supporting the OWS protestors
5) Underfunding the US military

The above headline was supposed to be a question.

Why can't we edit our own posts? Editing does not make us the dreaded flip-flopper.

"Why can't we edit our own posts?"

The short, unhelpful answer is the sw don't provide for it. One might ask why JBS signed up to a sw that don't provide for it. Based on our experience with CMG, sw what does provide for it also has a lot more features that allow for control by users, depending how much flexibility the administrators want to allow to patrons. My guess, and it is just a guess, is this is a pretty basic program that has minimum controls for both users and administrators, and therefore less complexity to go bust. This program may be friendlier from the standpoint of posting picture and audio files, of which there are many. It seems to have excellent archiving capability, but I still have to use Google to find anything older than what's up front. But then I have to use Google to find anything on Amazon, so f'ed up is their search function. With Amazon, the more you tell it, the less likely you are to find it.

I can highly recommend a paid application called "PocketCast" as an intuitive and robust way to obtain this podcast among others. I plant my feet firmly in the Android ecosystem, not sure what to tell you if you live in the locked down world of Steve Jobs.

Every morning I get on the train to discover that any updates have been downloaded for my listening pleasure.

"I can highly recommend a paid application called "PocketCast" "

Thanks for the advice. However, I do live in a Steve Jobs world. I just realized I'm having trouble not just w/podcasts, but w/downloads in general. Going to the Genius Bar if I can find the time. Clearly something is wrong.

BTW: I think it's really fantastic to have the downloads done automatically, so you can listen (I assume) when you don't have wifi available. Nice. This would be great for airlines, too -- so you don't have to pay their outrageous wifi fee.

Thanks, again.

Is it just me or is that one scary poster of BHO on the wall in the still photo intro to the video posted above? I can't decide whether he is supposed to be Che, Lenin, or Adolph, but his belligerent and defiant pose gives me the creeps. I wonder who created this poster.

On a lighter note, I saw a new bumper sticker the other day that riffs on Reagan's question during the Carter debates. The bumper sticker has the red/white/blue BHO emblem with the tag line "Are you better off today than you were 4 trillion dollars ago?"
