Mr. Obama Goes to Washington

"I'd Better Get My Pencil...."

Jean Arthur's brilliantly correct explanation to Jimmy Stewart of how to write and pass a bill in Congress which can then go to the President's signature for law - from Frank Capra's over-the-top "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington" -- illustrates about all President Obama and his impatient administration believed was needed in order to pass their fairy tale healthcare concatenation -- before the El Alamein of January 19 in Massachusetts.   The coulda/woulda/shoulda books are coming.  Better get a pencil.

Hard to believe Obama could have been in the Senate for 2 years and failed to learn even that much. After Rahmbo carefully constructed the two banner House elections, using conserative Democrats from Red Districts, who appealled to districts because of their conservative principles, they wouldn't cooperate with Rahmbo . . . because of their conservative principles. Delicious irony for one who was too clever by half.
