Movement began as nonviolent protests; militants from Pakistan supported by ISI turned it violent, India brought in brutal troops. Indian troops under the BJP have  raped 5,000 Kashmiri women and murdered more men, women and children.  Pakistan has reopened supply route after apology from Secy Clinton.

Tuesday 1035P (735P Pacific Time):  Malcolm Hoenlein, Conference of Presidents, in re: Syria. Egypt.  Russian began two weeks ago to lead a major military exercise in Eastern MEd, special ops, air, sea, and, Iran and Syria and China join. All denied the report except Teheran, FARS News Service. Tonight: Moscow: Russia sending flotilla of 11 war ships, from the Baltic, Northern, and Black Sea Fleets;  also air combat brigades. This is the gathering of the Axis powers - backing Assad all the way, Putin is in for the kill.   Syrian killed people in northern Lebanon today - escalating situation. Uprisings in Aleppo and Damascus. Russians said t hat he Turkish plane shot down was on a NATO mission testing Syrian (read: Russian) air defense system.    The  UN has failed, has been defeated with this gathering of hawks.  Egypt: Parliament convened for a few minutes; Moslem Brotherhood, 84 years in gestation, wants calm to do to the military worse than what was done in Turkey. Mousa calling for restoration of ties to Iran. Armenian leader meets with Iranian mullahs.   The  UN has failed, has been defeated with this gathering of hawks. Chavez has turned over a huge shipbuilding yard to Iran. Damascus-Cairo-Teheran-Istanbul are the power centers. Assad is a junior partner.

Israel: the parade has passed Kadima by. 

Tuesday 1050P (750P Pacific Time): Gordon Chang, The Daily and Forbes.com, in re; China's deteriorating economic conditions and the many Chinese people who depend on its expansion. Tienjin mall fire, hundreds died. Party  silent for a week, announced a week later that one person died.  Now we find that exit doors were locked, perhaps as many as 500 people were burned to crisps.  Thick national cover-up of Tienjin Party Secretary -  who's a candidate for the nine-menmber Standing Committee.  Chinese imports increased 6.3%, everyone expected twice that; a story of the Chinese local economy going through severe troubles.  May: 3.03% increase in price; in June, declined to 2%.  The leaders are obviously panicking. Copper bld-up in warehouses.  Wen Jiabao says he can "goose" the economy; no one believes it. Wen: "We must intensify the strength of our pre-emptive fine-tuning."
