Monday 19 October 2020 / Hour 1, Block A: Tom Joscelyn, @thomasjoscelyn, Senior Fellow, Foundation for Defense of Democracies; & Senior Editor for FDD's Long War Journal; and Bill Roggio, @billroggio, Long War Journal and FDD; in re: TALIBAN HAVE LAUNCHED an assault against the Helmand capital, Lashkar Gah. These are not peace talks; merely the Taliban jockeying for position. The deal merely keeps the US and Taliban fro attacking each other, I’ve heard tens of thousands people have fled the city. It’d be especially bad if a provincial capital fell during the talks.
Taliban today announced they’d provide security against thieves in Kabul City. If Pres Trump doesn’t pull the plug entirely before leaving, in case he loses this election, then it’ll fall to Biden to solve.
.. .. ..
The Taliban launched an all-out assault on Lashkar Gah, the capital of Helmand province, as U.S. officials continue to wrongly claim that those attacks are in violation of the U.S.-Taliban. The Taliban launched its offensive on Lashkar Gah last weekend and shut down the road linking the provincial capital with neighboring Kandahar City. Taliban fighters struck Police Districts 3 and 4, the Babaji area of the city and “three districts that are near the center of the province,” TOLONews reported. Two of the districts appear to be Nawa and Nad Ali.
Afghan police abandoned several checkpoints, ceding the areas to the Taliban. / withdrawal deal. https://www.longwarjournal.org/archives/2020/10/taliban-assaults-helmand...
Monday 19 October 2020 / Hour 1, Block B: Tom Joscelyn, @thomasjoscelyn, Senior Fellow, Foundation for Defense of Democracies; & Senior Editor for FDD's Long War Journal; and Bill Roggio, @billroggio, Long War Journal and FDD; in re: Edmund Fitton-Brown, coordinator of the UN Analytical Support and Sanctions Monitoring Team concerning the Islamic State, al-Qaeda, and the Taliban; ambassador covering troubled areas of the Middle East. Camps have become breeding-grounds for ISIS. Children and wives of these fighters live with family in the camps. All are deeply radicalized.
Taliban apologist revised the history to show that Taliban and al Qaeda are not close.
Insurgency means that you keep the goal/dream alive, and continue recruiting; this works over decades. The despair that Afghan people are feeling as the US withdraws forces and Taliban overrun the nation.

Generation Jihad Ep. 29 – An Interview with Edmund Fitton-Brown
Take a look around the globe today and you’ll see jihadists fighting everywhere from West Africa to Southeast Asia. They aren’t the dominant force in all of those areas, or even most of them. But jihadism has mushroomed into a worldwide movement, with al-Qaeda, the Taliban, ISIS and other groups waging guerrilla warfare and launching terrorist attacks on a regular basis.
Monday 19 October 2020 / Hour 1, Block C: Michael Yon, @Michael_Yon, Far East reporter; and Gordon Chang, Daily Beast, in re: The Hong Kong Twelve are being detained in Shenzhen; they were on their way by boat to Taiwan but were stopped by the Chinese Coast Guard and kidnapped; now, ten more are accused of collaborating are also kidnapped and imprisoned. China has even kidnapped people out of Thailand. Nothing would stop China from grabbing people in Canada or the US. China puts its best diplomats into human rights defense; will be concerned about Greta Thunberg’s defense of the Hong Kong Twelve. Carrie Lam, HK executive, is merely a puppet for Beijing More and more people want to escape and leave HK. This is a long-term insurgency. I want the US to take 100,000 HK refugees right now. JB: when border guard see people leaving, they shoot. This is like the Berlin Wall. Deadly force. See: Sinclair Lewis, It Can't Happen Here.
Monday 19 October 2020 / Hour 1, Block D: Cleo Paskal, @CleoPaskal, non-resident senior Fellow at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies & China Democracy Foundation, and Gordon Chang, Daily Beast, in re: Prof Anne-Marie Brady. @Anne_MarieBrady, @TheWilsonCenter; University of Canterbury who specialises in Chinese politics and its policies in the polar regions, has been gagged by her university as she wrote about the predations of China. New Zealand has been a target of Chinese infiltration. New Zealand is a strategically important location. China has worked hard to influence academe; Prof Brady has been targeted before, but this time the world academic community is coming to her defense. China’s effort here is to bankrupt Prof Brady into silence; she’s the first one for whom the China Democracy Fdn is fundraising to defend victims of Chinese predation. University of Canterbury is heavily connected to Harbin University PLA. Massive implications for the region, for the Five Eyes. Similar to what the Soviets did that got NZ kicked out of ANZUS—and Kiwis patted themselves on the back for being morally superior. In Fiji, two Chinese dips beat up a Taiwanese diplomat! See: ChinaDem.org
Monday 19 October 2020 / Hour 2, Block A: David M Drucker, Washington Examiner, & John Fund, NRO, in re: The Biden campaign has a financial edge right now; entered October with significantly more than Trump: a record-setting Democratic fundraiser. A matter of mgt and spending. Donald Trump is not the ascendant option he was in 2016. Sheldon Adelson has bailed him out with $75 million, but Trump hasn't put his own money in. Other donors are waiting to see how the Thursday debate turns out
Monday 19 October 2020 / Hour 2, Block B: John Fund, NRO, & David M Drucker, Washington Examiner, in re: Robert Reich recommends a Truth and Reconciliation Commission for both left and right in US to talk abut a bipartisan country. Amy Coney Barrett. Each party thinks the other started it, and that the other party is meaner.
Monday 19 October 2020 / Hour 2, Block C: Malcolm Hoenlein, Conference of Presidents; Thaddeus McCotter, @ThadMcCotter, American Greatness, in re: The beheading of the French teacher. Iran/IIRGC ships oil via New Jersey, obviously violating sanctions. Sanctions ended on 18 October. US$1 = 316,000 Iranian rials. A billion dollars’ worth of medicine in Iran has disappeared. Signing of agreement, passed by Knesset; formalized by Bahrain. Seven MOUs signed; 268 weekly flights between Israel and Bahrain. Iraq discussing relations with Israel: normalization of ties, says deputy PM. Sudan has agreed to pay $20 million to victims of terrorism in US and so be removed from terrorism list. Jordan allows overflights. Saeb Erekat presented himself as a moderate interlocutor; in fact he was spokesman for the devil. Was a medium darling; hired by Harvard to be an advisor to students! Contacted Covid, eventually transferred to Hadassah Hospital for a lung transplant. He always demanded that Palestinian not go to Israeli hospitals— but when he was in a pinch he went immediately. The PLO will not say that Erekat is in Tel Aviv.
Monday 19 October 2020 / Hour 2, Block D: Indiana Hoenlein, Conference of Presidents,; Thaddeus McCotter, @ThadMcCotter, American Greatness, in re: Two ancient shekels, 11.5 grams, so two are 23 grams. Weights were an eight-based system. Excavations beneath Wilson’s Arch. This coin was used for commerce in ancient Jerusalem. Near ritual baths that were restored by Mort Zuckerman, near Western Wall.
Monday 19 October 2020 / Hour 3, Block A: Andrew C McCarthy, @AndrewCMcCarthy, Ball of Collusion; and Thaddeus McCotter, @ThadMcCotter, American Greatness, in re: The Hunter Biden tale. Not all Russian information is disinformation. Adam Schiff.
Monday 19 October 2020 / Hour 3, Block B: Andrew C McCarthy, @AndrewCMcCarthy, Ball of Collusion; and Thaddeus McCotter, @ThadMcCotter, American Greatness, in re: Hunter Biden’s laptop. Section 230, immunity form liability for those who do not formulate content. If you in a politicized way regulate or limit content, then you develop content and become a publisher and so claim immunity. In fact, Twitter and Facebook censored content—excluded Hunter Biden info—which they're certainly entitled to do and thereby have become publishers. No one says that Twitter did anything wrong civilly or9 committed a crime; but there’s a legal difference between a penalty and a privilege. They’ve forfeited the status of not being a publisher, and can be sued.
Monday 19 October 2020 / Hour 3, Block C: Dr Brenda Shaffer: @ProfBShaffer @FDD; Georgetown; Elin Suleymanov, @ElinSuleymanov, @azembassyus, ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Washington; in re: Armenia and Azerbaijan accused each other of violating the truce agreed on Saturday. Washington: the two foreign ministers will meet with Secy Pompeo on Friday. Baku is puzzled as to why Erevan signs a cease-fore agreement yet continues shooting; it looks as though they don't want a ceasefire. They've done what dictatorships do: they fired a Scud missile at Ganja, striking meters from an Orthodox cathedral and also near a mosque. Barbaric. Killed a ten-month-old baby, and a young girl.
Video shows a line of cars and Iranians cheering what’s said to be Azerbaijani soldiers marching across a river, Araz River [Araxes River], the separation between Azerbaijan and the Azeris in Iran. “Heroic soldiers, don't fear; we love you!” Azeris in Iran cheering Azeris in Azerbaijan.
Monday 19 October 2020 / Hour 3, Block D: Larry C Johnson, Sic Semper Tyrannis, in re: Hunter Biden’s laptop; his conduct and that of his family. Steve Mac Isaac was copilot to my friend in Vietnam. His brother, John Paul Mac Issac, ran the computer repair store in Delaware. Hunter failed repeatedly to respond to requests that he pick up his computer. Months later, ____ took it to the FBI in August 2020; accepted some of it and threw him out, then did nothing with it. In September, FBI showed up with a subpoena and took possession of it. John Paul Mac Issac cooperated in all ways. . . . Uncle in March made contact with various Congressional offices, lower-level staff, who [largely ignored it]. Someone claiming to be Hunter Biden’s attorney and asked to “have the computer back,’ which confirms that it is, indeed, Hunter’s.
Monday 19 October 2020 / Hour 4, Block A: Richard Epstein: @RichardAEpstein, Chicago Law, NYU Law, Hoover Defining Ideas, in re: Washington vs Big Tech: The Early Years. Anti-trust. Four companies have a combined value of five trillion dollars.
