* A Key into the Language of America, by Roger Williams (1643)  Key was the first dictionary of any Indian language [largely Narragansett, an Algonquin/ Algonkian language], and it fed the great curiosity of English people about the American Indians. It was printed by John Milton's publisher, Gregory Dexter, who had become a resident of Providence Plantations, and it quickly became a bestseller and provided Williams with a large and favorable reputation.
